Vonda7 - On Fire

A versatile music lover from Poland that has trotted Europe playing and learning the ropes of different styles, Vonda7 finally settled in Berlin, from where she unleashes beasts like this track, keeping her impressive production skills at the highest level. 

Randomer & Cadans - Anchor (Len Faki Hardspace Remix)

Len Faki continues his remix-oriented series on LF RMX 010 with four tough remixes, of which we´ve selected the drifting, sparse version of Randomer and Cadans´ original tune Anchor.

Chymera - Noise Tool

Irish producer Chymera brings us Noise Tool, his latest release on Maeve, featuring a progressive, slow burning title track, which opens with a subtle kick and then builds up to become an all- enveloping monster.

Juxta Position - Bad Folder

Juxta Position takes us on an expedition to the deepest realms of techno in Bad Folder, part of Figure Jams 005, his split EP with Pablo Mateo on Figure. With a driving, stomping beat, the track layers on bouncing stabs that play off each other, in a sort of call-and-answer fashion.

Kevin de Vries - Aratak

When it comes to melodic, progressive techno, Afterlife is the place to go, as Aratak, the latest EP from Kevin de Vries, proves, especially in its title track. Synths laden with effects carry the tune while a solid and robust rhythm section provides a steady base from which to fly off.

Lewis. - The Resurrection

Berlin imprint Dense Audio continue their streak of great techno releases with The Resurrection, an EP from producer Lewis., featuring two original tracks and a remix by Brian Gros. First cut is the title track, which ambles along quite nicely thanks to fat, dense grooves and washed-out voice samples.

Sasha - Smoke Monk (VONDA7 6am Flight Remix)

The original version of Smoke Monk appeared in Sasha´s Fabric 99 mix earlier this year, a soothing, melodic tune that fit in nicely with the set´s vibe. On this occasion, versatile German producer and DJ VONDA7 lends her hand and reworks the tune by toughening up the beat, adding a swirling bassline and rearranging the melodic elements of the original, while keeping its dreamlike qualities intact.

Juliet Fox - Wanted Me

Juliet Fox is a rising techno talent from Berlin, who´s been making waves in the scene thanks to collaborations with artists such as Arjun Vagale and Ramiro Lopez, which caught the attention of several major labels, including the mighty Drumcode. Included as part of the label´s seventh A-Sides compilation, her solo effort Wanted Me is a standout in the collection, for its distinctive groove and enigmatic voice samples.

Ambivalent & Alden Tyrell - Dutchless

With a low frequency grumble sticking to the chugging rhythms and synth stabs washing over them like angry waves, Dutchless brings techno to the edge of darkness and light and peeks at the abyss, coming back with solid footing and firm determination. Featured in Ambivalent and Alden Tyrell´s Detente EP, on Cocoon Records.

KlangKuenstler - Cathedral of Saw

A dark and menacing techno blizzard is what we get with Cathedral of Saw, KlangKuenstler´s opening and title cut of his latest EP on Filth On Acid. Fast, plummeting kicks stomp away while buzzing synths give a very sharp edge to this bone-crushing track.

Pan-Pot - Weltlinie

Berlin-based techno duo Pan-Pot took some time off their hectic touring schedule and produced the Weltlinie EP, which is also the 50th release by their Second State record label. Five tracks that cover many different shades of techno, from the experimental sounds of Freigeist and the spacey Zeit, to the funky stylings of Weltlinie.

Phase Fatale - Reverse Fall

New York-born and Berlin-based, Phase Fatale lives under the influence of two of the busiest and most energetic cities in the world, something that translates to his techno productions under the guise of industrial coldness, blanketed by a thin veil of human emotion. Reverse Fall is no exception, a blistering track that will chill you to the core. Included in the Reverse Fall EP, released by Ostgut Ton.

Martin Eyerer - El Circulo

For the Bedrock XX anniversary set, John Digweed recruited some of the most creative minds in techno music, resulting in an impressive collection of first-rate, cutting edge music made specifically for the occasion. Digweed then proceeded to compile and mix these tracks and produce two sessions of pure quality. Martin Eyerer was one of such artists, bringing his darkly melodic style of thundering techno, where arpeggio synth notes ride along the beats, in an epic nine-minute track.

Camea - NAF 97

Trained musician, DJ, producer and label head, Camea is a multi-faceted artist from Seattle based in Berlin, devoted to creating enigmatic and melodic techno that´s become her trademark and made her a sought-after name to play in clubs and festivals around the world. She released the NAF 97 EP on her own Neverwhere label, featuring two original tracks and their respective remixes by Markus Suckut and Matrixxman. The title cut is an expansive and hypnotic affair, with plenty of bass, a strong rhythm, and a dark, sinister breakdown. 

Juxta Position - Pestered

A simple, hard and bouncy tune, Pestered by Juxta Position nonetheless hits all the rights spots when it comes to well-produced techno. On the Elixir E.P., released by Figure, this Berlin artist shows us what he´s able to conjure up by using analogue sounds and different takes on the style, resulting in four very distinct cuts that stand on their own.

Philip Bader - 51

Berlin DJ and producer Philip Bader knows very well what lies at the heart of techno: relentless beats and complete abandon, and he shows it in Dark Series 2 E.P., an explosive two-tracker released by  his Out Of Mind label that includes 51, our selection for today. Pounding and merciless, this cut keeps a steady pace while dropping massive depth charges and resonating all throughout the dancefloor. Sure to perk a few ears up when dropped. 

Fjaak - Keep the Funk

Fjaak have been a very busy outfit ever since being picked up by Modeselektor for their 50 Weapons label in 2014, releasing a slew of breaks and techno records, including their first LP last year. Described as "hardware heads", the Berlin trio has imbibed from the city´s fountain of techno and become a true ambassador to the style, evidenced by their two-track, four-to-the-floor release Fjaak 003. Relentless beats that get into your head and move you onto the dancefloor, there´s no way to remain indifferent in the face of such massive kicks, especially in the A-side Keep the Funk, with its non-stop sample adding to the madness.
