Pascal FEOS - F&L

Techno veteran Pascal FEOS has been responsible for some very memorable tracks throughout his almost 3-decades-old career, keeping true to his roots and always looking to push the genre forward. He teams up with Bedrock to release The Big Reason EP, a huge record that includes F&L, a sonic overload that looks murky from afar, but once you get up close, turns into a wonderfully complex affair with a killer bassline.

Mediane - Inhuman

Mediane are two producers from Paris who combine their respective influences and talents to create tunes that are dark, deep, atmospheric, aggressive and ominous. Sometimes these styles come together all at once, like in Inhuman, off their Spiritual Rave EP on OFF Recordings, where punishing beats coexist with scary synths and an overall uneasy feeling.

Re:Axis - Energy In Motion

A pulsating techno beat opens Energy In Motion, included in the EP of the same name by Re:Axis and released by Planet Rhythm, which then starts progressing and building up into a driving, hypnotic track, thanks in part to its mysterious voice samples.

Truncate - Multiply

On Multiply, Truncate crafts searing grooves that make for real pounding techno, which trudges along nicely until, at the least expected, a surprising element comes into play, in the form of playful piano stabs. 

Dense & Pika and Melody´s Enemy - From Nothing

Dense & Pika collaborate with Melody´s Enemy once again to produce From Nothing, combining deep grooves with a solid beat and creating a killer track complete with some ominous vocals. Released by Kneaded Pains together with an excellent remix by Perc.

Element0 - Loaded

Suara go acid in their Raw compilation, with 13 rave-ready, no-nonsense hard techno tracks with plenty of 303 mayhem. Mysterious producer Element0 chimes in with Loaded, a rumbling menace of a tune that gets darker and darker with each passing bar, until exploding in an acid-washed armageddon.

Drunken Kong - How Far Do We Go

Drunken Kong keep bringing the red-hot beats, this time with the How Far Do We Go EP, on Terminal M. The title track is especially ominous and evil, with unsettling tones lying underneath the pounding kicks and rolling bass.

Ellen Allien - Trigger

True to her sci-fi techno style, German techno powerhouse Ellen Allien brings us her Take A Stand EP on Nonplus Records, featuring 3 tracks and opening with the lengthy and epic title track. Following is Trigger, a delightful slice of modulated kicks and cavernous effects that carries a killer  bass-led drive.

Loco & Jam - Red Alert

Loco & Jam return to Tronic Music with Resonate, a 3-track EP that hits hard right away with no-nonsense straight-up techno, especially on Red Alert, with a hypnotising groove and loads of energy.

The Saunderson Brothers - Under The Bridge

Dantiez and Damarii Saunderson carry more techno in their blood than a week-long squat party, and it´s because of two reasons: they´re natives of Detroit, the city that gave birth to the style, and they´re both sons of Kevin Saunderson, a part of the "Holy Trinity" of Detroit and of techno history itself. Released by the legendary KMS, their track Under The Bridge continues on the great legacy of their predecessors, with booming kicks, stabbing synths and an irresistible groove.

Roman Poncet - Turn Down

Featured in the Figure 100 Compilation, Roman Poncet´s Turn Down presents a deep, jackin´ side of techno, a different vision that sets the tune apart from the other heavier tracks in the collection, which nevertheless includes great music from many artists on Len Faki´s label.  

Lewis Fautzi - Opposition

Portuguese techno pride and joy Lewis Fautzi has enjoyed a steady rise in the international ranks, with a constant stream of releases that end up in the sets of many a top artist. He gives us four tracks of his down & dirty techno style on his Deep Illusion EP, on Bpitch Control, of which we select the last cut, Opposition, because we here like sinister, distorted techno very much.

Sasha - Smoke Monk (VONDA7 6am Flight Remix)

The original version of Smoke Monk appeared in Sasha´s Fabric 99 mix earlier this year, a soothing, melodic tune that fit in nicely with the set´s vibe. On this occasion, versatile German producer and DJ VONDA7 lends her hand and reworks the tune by toughening up the beat, adding a swirling bassline and rearranging the melodic elements of the original, while keeping its dreamlike qualities intact.

The Advent - High Horse

Long-standing techno society member The Advent keeps bringing his distinctive style to new levels after more than 20 years bashing out beats, earning him a place high up among his peers and audiences around the globe. The Klockworks 22 EP brings us more of his energetic and atmospheric techno style, with opening cut High Horse delivering a hefty dose of jackin´ techno know-how.

The September Mix - Part One

Time again for a new mix! This time the gloves are off and we bring you a scorching hot set from start to finish. Hard grooves, great melodies, wicked voice samples and, as always, big big kicks. Starting with the Detroit-like bass of opener They Came to Equalize, from 8factor, and ending with the larger-than-life vocals of closing tune Echota, from Veerus and Oc & Verde, this is a 69-minute ride that´s sure to have a couple memorable moments. Eric Sneo - Feel High

Funky and percussive, Eric Sneo´s Feel High, the second cut off his Burning Angels EP on Elevate, is a rollicking techno track with plenty of moving power thanks to a strong foundation. A time-tested electronic music artist who keeps adding to an already impressive discography.

Juliet Fox - Wanted Me

Juliet Fox is a rising techno talent from Berlin, who´s been making waves in the scene thanks to collaborations with artists such as Arjun Vagale and Ramiro Lopez, which caught the attention of several major labels, including the mighty Drumcode. Included as part of the label´s seventh A-Sides compilation, her solo effort Wanted Me is a standout in the collection, for its distinctive groove and enigmatic voice samples.

Veerus and OC & Verde - Echota

Italian DJ and producer Veerus joins forces with Manchester duo OC & Verde to create Echota, part of the Wheel EP, released by Filth On Acid. The track´s techno beat is as tough as one would expect, with and added mysticism courtesy of very effectively used vocal samples and lots of reverberation, resulting in a massive, stratospheric sound.

8factor - They Came To Equalize

With a distinctive Detroit vibe, They Came To Equalize introduces us to 8factor and his Second Dimension EP, out on East Leipzig Theory. A catchy bassline runs throughout the tune´s solid beats and voice samples, creating a dark, old-school atmosphere that hides many surprising turns in its many layers.
