Alex Stein - Maelstrom

A dark, powerful track that carries a driving groove and booming kicks, Maelstrom by Alex Stein is truly a force to be beckoned with. Released on the EP by the same name on Senso Sounds.

Alex Mine & Binaryh - Pandora

Italy meets Brazil in this collaboration between Alex Mine and Binaryh, resulting in a sprawling, cavernous and chilling track, combining Mine´s penchant for dark beats and melodies with Binaryh´s more theatrical tendencies. Out of the Prometheus EP on Comade Music.

ANNA - When I Am Only A Dream

ANNA keeps hammering out the beats in her own unique style, this time in Kompakt Extra´s Speicher 105 EP. Two trippy versions of the original track Remembrance open the record, while When I Am Only A Dream provides a straighter-edged techno banger with lots of small details to watch out for.

Vinicius Honorio - Ride the Lightning

Brazilian DJ and producer Vinicius Honorio works the grooves hard in Ride the Lightning, the third track off Locust, his new EP on Octopus Recordings. By building a canopy of sound that includes winks at the rhythms of his native Rio de Janeiro, he creates a truly engaging track that doesn´t let up and keeps you on your toes.

Wehbba - Catarse

With his Catarse EP, Wehbba continues his incredible output of releases showcasing his talents in bringing out magical moments from the hardest techno grooves. Using melody and contrasting sounds, uniting the darkness and the light in his productions, he has been able to create some of the most engaging music of the year. Released by Drumcode, the EP contains four tracks of techno goodness, touching on everything from hard beats to minimal sounds to the power of a well-produced, killer melody.

SCB - Extint (ANNA Remix)

Scuba´s ice-cold techno sound has by now become his trademark, with crisp production and robotic, repetitive loops and rhythms that seem alien and devoid of feeling but nonetheless compelling and entertaining. His Extinct EP, released by his very own Hotflush label, includes two original tunes and two remixes of the title track, with ANNA´s version bringing out its deeper, tougher side.

ANNA - Razor

Named Best Breakthrough Artist at the 2016 DJ Awards in Ibiza, Brazilian DJ and producer ANNA is now based in Barcelona and has enjoyed a steady rise in the international techno scene, thanks to an increasing presence at clubs and festivals around the world, and also to a quality body of work spread across some of the best dance music labels, like Kompakt, Turbo, Suara, Get Physical, etc. Her Razor EP, on novamute, includes three original tracks that seem to teeter on the edge between darkness and light, ranging from the edgy Dreamweaver and the otherworldly Escapism to the dramatic title cut, which is our highlight for today.
